This is a follow-up to my previous posting: Debugging Archos devices just got a lot easier.
It was a bit of work as g_serial has changed a lot inbetween 2.6.22 and 2.6.27. This version only supports one serial device. I’ve decided to bind an cat /proc/kmsg to it, so if you want to bind an getty to it you have to kill the cat first I guess.
I’ve made the initramfs with the slightly modified init script and added modules available. Bitbake recipes should appear in svn in the near future. Need to clean up my tree first.

PS: On an slightly related note. I hope SFR decides soon to open their branded A5 3G+ to an SDE, so that owners of those devices will be able to enjoy this too. They were selling the device for a couple of days for only 50€ free of contract, certainly a very nice offer.
PPS: use with an gen6 kernel only. Like e.g. this one

yes,
i’ve recently acquired a archos 5 3g+ by SFR, and frankly it’s a pity to see such a good hardware wasted by this poor and never updated software..
many user have complained on the SFR board, and mails have been sent without any success, since the last 2 months (first complains started on december 09 ; without answers..)
it has to be mentionned that this ‘by SFR’ archos has been designed 2 years ago and was a poor seller, without a good ad’ . and SFR totally abandonned this project, so this offer is more a stock-cleaner than a new commercial offer ..
seeing openaos tricks and not being able to do so on our archos is quite unbearable

Well it is our sincere hope that with the surging interest SFR will open up to an SDE. This would be an clean solution for everyone.
Of course there is nothing stopping you from finding an exploit and taking matters in your own hands.
frankly, we are working on that with frenchies in hardware.fr forum, but we lack some gurus..
Works great. Thanks!
